Join us for the 5th Annual Bands on the Basin—a one-of-a-kind celebration of local music, community, and the Petaluma River, all to support The Floathouse!
Paddle in, float up, or settle in at a nearby restaurant and enjoy live music echoing across the Turning Basin. Whether you’re grooving in a kayak, bobbing on a padde board, rocking a water bike or dancing on the shore, this free riverside concert is pure Petaluma magic.
Date: Saturday, July 12, 2025, 1-7 pm.
Location: The Turning Basin, Downtown Petaluma
Admission: Free! But this is a fundraiser for The Floathouse—please consider donating to keep us afloat. [https://www.thefloathousepetaluma.org/fiesta ]
Rent a boat (reserve early online!), bring your own, or hang out on the public docks, or at our many local riverside restaurants, and enjoy the show.
All ages welcome. All vibes encouraged.
Housekeeping Notes for Bands on the Basin
To help keep the day flowing smoothly, please note:
If you bring your own boat, please launch from the public docks on the turning basin, accessible from Weller Street (use 220 Weller Street for GPS.) or launch at the Petaluma Marina and paddle up river (use 781 Baywood Dr. for GPS) DO NOT PARK IN RIVER PLAZA on Washington Street; you will be ticketed. NO personal boats will be allowed to launch from The Floathouse docks at 50 Water Street.
RENTALS: We highly recommend booking your Floathouse rental online in advance! This is one of our busiest days of the year, and rentals fill up fast.
Rental hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
All rentals are 90 minutes or 2 hours only.
That means:
Last 2-hour rentals go out at 5:00 PM
Last 90-minute rentals go out at 5:30 PM
Plan ahead, paddle happy, and we’ll see you on the water!

5/27/2023 - Petaluma's Bands on the Basin 4th annual fundraiser for The Floathouse Petaluma is back for 2023 on Saturday July 8th!
Come join us for a day in the Petaluma River turning basin just outside TAPS Petaluma for a day of live music, friends and fun!
Boat, float, kayak, SUP your way to live bands performing on the dock throughout the day or watch from the basin at one of our riverfront restaurants or for the surrounding docks.

9/1/2021 - Hi everyone! Here we go again, one last gig to rock the dock in 2021. Grab your kayaks, paddle boards and floaties! Bands on the Basin is returning Saturday September 25th 1:00pm to 7:00pm, featuring live performances by The Hots, Kehoe International & Irefuse, all hosted by Eli Lucas.

6/1/2021 - Happy 2021 everyone, Whew 2020 was rough and we truly appreciate everyone who came out and participated in the inaugural social distance fundraiser shows last year.
We are coming back stronger than ever this year with things looking better and the Petaluma Small Craft Center still needs our support to complete The Floathouse project.
